Dhaka stocks trade lower

Most shares fell on the Dhaka Stock Exchange today amid persisting uncertainty over the local and global economy and high inflationary pressure.

The DSEX Index, the key index of the premier exchange of Bangladesh, stood at 6,342 at 12:12pm, giving up 17.48 points or 0.27 per cent.

The DSES Index, which represents Shariah-based companies listed on the bourse, was down 0.18 per cent to 1,382, while the DS30 Index, which consists of the blue-chip companies, dipped 0.34 per cent to 2,283.

Turnover stood at Tk 285 crore.

Of the issues traded, 124 advanced, 188 declined and 68 were unchanged.
