The Dhaka-bound Padma Express train left Rajshahi this evening (July 27, 2022) nearly two and a half hours after students including Rajshahi University admission seekers barred the train in protest of selling train tickets on the black market.
The train left Rajshahi Railway Station at 6:25pm for Dhaka, Ashim Kumar Talukder, general manager of Railway’s West Zone, told our Rajshahi staff correspondent.

According to railway authorities, the admission seekers called off the protest after a new compartment was added to the Padma Express train.
After the admission test of Rajshahi University was held, the aspirants blocked the train from 4pm today after not getting tickets to return to Dhaka.
Protesting students told The Daily Star that many RU admission seekers were not being able to return home due to sale of train tickets on the black market.
